United Airlines has announced that they intend to start operating direct flights between New York and Johannesburg on 3 June. Despite the current restrictions on travel to South Africa the announcement is a very positive step in the right direction for tourism in Southern Africa.
"Connecting Johannesburg to New York will open up new opportunities for both business and leisure travellers and help our customers in South Africa reconnect with friends and family around the world," said Marcel Fuchs, United Airlines Managing Director of International Sales.
