Lake Kariba, often referred to as Zimbabwe's inland ocean, lies on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, and is also one of largest man-made lakes in the world.

Lake Kariba is a one of a kind destination, with amazing scenery and breaking views and a host of activities including fishing, various water sports and game viewing by boat. The lake is a popular houseboat safari destination, and is host to various types of houseboats and cruisers, such as the Matusadona Luxury Safari Cruiser.

Fishing is especially popular on Lake Kariba, as the waters are home to vast populations of Tiger Fish and bream. There is even a Tiger Fishing contest held at the lake in May each year.

“It seems there is a very positive change in Zimbabwe that could lead to creating things for the destination. The lake has a lot more to offer and is really a must for any visitor to the area,” says Christiaan Steyn, Marketing Manager of Drifters Adventours.
