Protea Hotels by Marriott are opening the largest operating hotel in the Bonanza Estate, Lusaka. The hotel will have convenient and easy access to the airport and major city landmarks. This hotel development, which is strategically located within the new upmarket lifestyle hub, will strengthen its partnership with Union Gold (Zambian business giant).
The mutually beneficial relationship, which has been functioning for the past 17 years, will be further entrenched with the expansion of the development. The hotel is a step towards building up Botswana's under-serviced tourism infrastructure. It should feed the rising demand for quality lodging, helping to fulfil the potential for both business and leisure tourism.
The hotel will consist of 241 rooms built resort-style, and offer food and beverage services, conferencing venues, spa and recreational facilities, and a standalone 2,000 seat amphitheatre. The latter of which should attract major events to the city. In addition to all of the above, the hotel will also have an 18-hole golf course.
Construction is scheduled to begin early 2019 with an aimed completion date of two years later.
