We are very excited to announce that the Bushtracks Express will return to the rails, and will be fully operational again in the very near future!

The Bushtracks Express is a beautifully restored steam train on which our Signature Steam Safari takes place in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

Our Steam Safaris have always been a unique activity that remains to be the only rail experience of its kind within the region. Having been lovingly restored by Bushtracks Africa and Rovos Rail, the carriages are elegant and opulent, comfortably accommodating 44 guests. The train marries vintage luxury with modern fine dining, to recreate moments of a bygone era.

Guests are welcomed with a refreshing drink before boarding the train, which then leisurely meanders through the national park. The train comes to a stop on the Victoria Falls bridge, where the stunning backdrop of the spray from the Falls shimmering in the last rays of the setting sun can be enjoyed, complete with sundowners. Guests are then treated to a delightful five-star dinner, paired with delicious wines, while making their way back to the station.

"We consider the down-time period during the pandemic as 'beauty-sleep' for our prestigious train, as she returns with updated branding and exciting enhancements which will be announced closer to the launch on the 5th of May 2023," says Christopher Tett, CEO of Bushtracks.
