We are thrilled that our signature activity, Bushtracks Steam Safaris, is ‘back on track’ in both Zimbabwe and Zambia, with new and exciting developments on both sides of the border!

Elegance and opulence marked the age of the steam train. Beautiful classic steam locomotives and carriages have been lovingly restored by Bushtracks Africa and Rovos rail. The carriages marry vintage luxury with a modern fine dining experience to recreate moments of bygone romance.

On this unique activity, guests are welcomed with a refreshing beverage before climbing aboard to leisurely meander through the national park, en-route to Victoria Falls Bridge.

Guests will disembark on the bridge to marvel the stunning backdrop of the spray from the Falls shimmering in the last rays of the setting sun, with a sundowner in hand. Once back on board guests are treated to a delightful five-course dinner, paired with decadent wines as the train chugs through the national park under a starlit African sky.

We are also pleased to introduce a new catering partnership with Camillla Meiring who has enhanced our menu and service to ensure an truly unforgettable fine dining experience. The new menu includes delights such as double baked cheese soufflé, peeper crusted ostrich carpaccio, beef fillet with garlic prawns and a strawberry patch dessert complete with chocolate soil and baobab meringue.

Not only is Bushtracks Express, Zimbabwe, returning to the rails from 5 May 2023, but the Royal Livingstone Express in Zambia, will also be returning to full schedule, from the 3rd May 2023.
